If there is anything I have learnt in the past 8 years of photographing children and families it's that your family want to see you too.  They want you in their photos, not behind the camera, but in them.  When they look through the albums or see the photos of you on the walls, it takes them to a place of comfort, just like a big warm hug.  When they are adults, it takes them back to memories.  Memories that may have been forgotten over time.  How often have you pulled up an old photo or gone to visit your own Grandmother's house or your Mum's house and there are photos everywhere from different generations that just take you back?  As a photographer, I am quite often missing from my family photos and somehow they always feel incomplete.  Until someone says, "no you get in too".  I can tell you now, your kiddies embrace that and they need it.  At the time, it may feel uncomfortable, but once you have that photo in your hand, I promise you, you'll be so grateful you did.

Take a chance, don't wait to lose those extra kilos or wait until they are a little older or the weather is warmer.  Just do it now, you won't regret it I promise.
