After 15 years of working in retail, putting my heart and soul into a company I loved it is time for a change. Time to switch off the computer for the last time and walk out of the door with my head high feeling excited, hopeful and relieved.
I always envisaged a life with a career in admin, coming home to my family and being content with that. But instead I constantly felt torn between the two. So with the support of my partner and family and friends I made the decision to resign. My heart just wasn’t there anymore and it was time for the next chapter… Some may call it a leap of faith or being brave, but to me, it’s about and following my heart. Life is too short to be taken for granted.
My heart lies with photography. It’s more than just a job. Its more than just about taking pictures.
There is something about freezing a moment in time that shows raw emotion. Like a mumma to be; lost in her own thoughts of the little miracle that is about to arrive, or the expression on the face of a first time mummy when she looks into the eyes of her new born baby. To capturing the connection of a couple sharing an intimate moment when he tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and you see that look on his face that shows just how much he cares. Or that cute little two year old that has so much energy you don’t know where they are going to run or when they are going to stop for a second, just enough to capture that image of their cheeky face and smiling eyes.
