One of the most common questions I receive when my clients have booked their photo session is, "I have no clue on what we are going to wear". Here are a few helpful hints to prepare you and your loved ones so you feel confident and feel like "you got this" when you walk into your photography session.

Your photo session is an event, therefore it's a great idea to dress for the event.

It's important to wear what you feel comfortable and feel your best in.  If you feel confident that you look good, this will show through your photos and you won't focus so much on adjusting your skirt or hitching up your top to cover maybe a little too much cleavage, more that you were hoping to show.

Dresses, maxi skirts with a cute frilled top or jeans with a cami and blazer, jacket or cardi can look quite cute also.  Remembering texture and layering.

Think hats, earrings, necklaces, scarves, ribbons to add to your outfit

TIPS and HINTS...

If your little girl tries on the dress and does a twirl, chances are she will do it in your photoshoot.

Outfit choices that move in your photo session bring warmth, emotion, and tell a story.  Think about this also when it comes to how you wear your hair.

What to wear.....

- Do wear complimentary colour tones, mix and match patterns with solid colours

- Keep in mind what colours best reflect you

- Think about your location and what tones best suit that space

- Twirl dresses for girls

- Patterns that aren't overwhelming

- Shoes that blend

- Accessories to finish off your look

- Dress to compliment each other, but not matchy matchy.

Tip:  Lay your clothing on your bed and see that all your outfits compliment each others

Shirts/tops and dresses that have no shape will not "hide" what you want hidden.  In actual fact, it can do the opposite, so wear something that gives you shape.

Large logos, busy colours, fluros, Disney dresses and runners draw attention and will be the first thing you see in your photo rather than the moment itself.  Fluro laces or socks will do the same.

Leave those items for home time.....
